Over the last 15 years, the number of writing centers at European universities has grown. Looking at the writing centers in the USA, the European writing center history is still quite young. Nevertheless, we are asking ourselves what the future of European writing centers will look like? What developments are there within the educational system, what global developments and challenges are shaping and changing the work in writing centers? What do we need to rethink, what do we need to change and which concepts are still proving to be productive? How are digital changes influencing our work and how can we adapt to the constantly changing student groups in order to meet their needs?
The European Writing Center Association (EWCA), together with the Journal for Writing Research (JoSch), is asking for submissions on the thematic focus: “The Future of European Writing Centers”.
The complete call for papers can be found here.
